Doing It Right

This is a REPOST - I was so disappointed by H&M I had to share.

Here is the link to the original post.

H&M is Awesome

The East Atlanta Village is one of the most loving, tight-knit neighborhoods I’ve ever known. The residents are like family. On December 14, 2008, I painted a love letter to my neighborhood. The sign was located on the main thoroughfare on Flat Shoals Avenue. On one side of the sign, I painted, “You Look Nice Today” followed by a little heart. This was on the side of the sign that I thought people would see on their way to work. On the other side of the sign (the side I thought people would see the most on their return back to the neighborhood) I painted, “I’m So Happy You’re Here” with another little heart. It was a small gesture that I genuinely hoped would make my neighbors feel good.

A few days ago, friends started sending me links to the H&M UK website. Apparently, H&M were so impressed by my work, that they were using it on pillowcases and doormats, with no credit or compensation.

An email to H&M received the following response:
“We employ an independent team of over 100 designers. We can assure you that this design has not been influenced by your work and that no copyright has been infringed.”
Really?

Here’s a copy of a complaint a friend sent via H&M’s customer service portal. Please note their reply.

Some friends have been posting on H&M’s Facebook page, which is being scrubbed clean of any mention of this incident as quickly as possible.
Except for this statement:

I think it is pretty obvious what H&M have done. I hoped you wouldn’t mind sharing this with your readers.
Thank you,
Tori LaConsay

Wellness - Nabacu

The opportunity to explore Eastern medicine presented itself today.
Myself and Noah had appointments for acupressure massages from Nabacu

Unsure of what to expect as we entered the standard looking office building, I was plesantly surprised when we walked through the suite doors.  The peaceful music and smiling faces that greated us immediately put me at ease.  After settling our paperwork, we sat to enjoy a bit of water and tea before our sessions.

Dr. Wang came and sat with us to discuss her background and what she could help us with (based on our answers on the new patient forms).  It was very nice of her to take the time to discuss our services and benefits as well as some of the other services that are offered.  Her approach was very frank and to the point, yet warm.

Jenny used a firm hand starting at the neck and working her way down.  Utilizing her whole arms, the pressure was a lot at times, but nothing that hurt.  I think my favorite part of the acupressure was when she pressed the points on my arm from my elbow to my hands.

Afterwards my back though sore was flexible and I am looking into contacting my insurance company to see if they can help pay for me to come back!

If you are interested in seeing it Eastern medicine is right for you here are some specials for the month of February!

Beverly Hills

I will admit it.

I am one of the millions of viewers who watch The Real Housewives Series.  This week was the wedding episode and it was super pretty in pink.

Here are a few of my favorite things from the wedding:

The cake was classic and gorgeous covered in fresh flowers.  The tent really did have a cozy feel (the best that money can buy!)  The tables were a bit over the top for my taste, but I loved the varied of pink florals.

I am not traditionally a pink girl, but there was something about how it all came together that was elegant and fun.

Now it is time for more OC drama!

Event Insider Notes: Pink/Fuchsia is the most flattering lighting at an event.  It really give the guest the best glow for pictures! Also large sparklers are super fun, but a logistical nightmare, they take forever to light and it is hard to get them all going at once. (But nothing is impossible!)

Hot Stuff

I LOVE that things I loved as a child are coming back!
I love even more when I can buy these things for myself.

INCASE brings back something old with something now.

Featuring the Thermo Snap Case ($34.95)
A little heat or cool and you can customize your case, for a bit anyways.

This bring back memories because once upon a time I was a sticker collector.  I had puffies, heaties, fuzzies, and shinies.  For those who misses out, heaties were foam stickers with heat touch response.

Unfortunately I don't still have this awesome collection with me.  So I did the next best thing.

Thank you The Sticker Monster for sharing your childhood book.  I totally had these stickers!

Yuuup!

Make sure your dvr is set to record the new episode of Storage Wars on A&E tonight 10pm EST.

Barry is by far the best character, but Justin and Brandi are a good laugh as well.  Darrell is a wild card and Dave is... leaving?

According to TMZ, Hester might not be returning next season unless A&E raises their 'unjust' offer.

Will he be missed?
Nooope!

Still Celebrating

Birthdays come around every year.  I can still remember birthdays of kids I went to school with whom I haven't spoken too in years!  Yet, I usually end up taking the easy way out by just posting on facebook instead of sending out an actual card.

Since 2012 is a year of new, I have decided to use a bit of my work ethic to get my life in top shelf shape.  Because it is Martha Monday I have a good source on where to get started.

In her never ending wonder, Martha gives us the birthday card book.  Using clasp envelopes with full page  monthly calendar on the front you can fill in the birthdays or other occasions you need to remember, and drop cards suitable for each recipient in the appropriate envelope throughout the year. So simple and yet so chic. Feeling inspired I decided to see what other eye catching organizars I could find.

And then I felt it was time to give it a go myself.  We always had a box with cards growing up for all occasions but never really sorted.

What do you think?
