Plastic Party

I love this time of year and will use any excuse to get friends and loved ones together for a good time.  As a planner of parties I enjoy the details and am constantly looking for new ideas.

I must have missed this HILARIOUS 'must have' for any outdoor soiree!
 I cannot decide.
Genius? Heinous?

Totally Rando

Get Rando with your pictures.

Rando is a newer app that bucks the trend of traditional photo sharing apps.  Instead of sending images for all of your friends to ooo and aahh over, you send them to a COMPLETE stranger.  And only one person will see it.

So why would someone want to do this?

'The idea, the developers explain, was born out of fond memories of the occasional mix-ups that occurred in the days when taking pictures meant dropping off film to be developed. Every so often, some absentminded clerk would slip someone else’s photos in your envelope, and you’d get an unexpected glimpse into some anonymous life. If you’ve ever looked through some old packet of photos at a flea market, you’ll be familiar with this unique mix of voyeurism, mystery, and serendipity.'

Want to see what my first 3 Rando's look like?

Are these 'better' then what I would post on Instagram? No. But I like the idea of taking pictures for fun that don't need a reason or a story.

I will Rando on.

How did I learn about Rando? Right here.

Smart Art - Victor Castanera

I love how when you look at art you feel something.

The instant I saw Victor's work, the beauty of the simplicity and  flow to each shape stuck with me.  I also love the idea of the individuality of each piece.  Here are a few photos (all from the artist's website) to illustrate the process and highlight the distinctive beauty.

From the Artist's site:
Areniscos is borned with reflection about the speed of the current industrial production and the social consequences of nowadays. On the other side it takes natural environment and the possibilities it can bring us in sensory levels, sustainability and experience.

It's about creating a small industry that allows us to create multiple objects in a simple way, using our surroundings, without contamination, without machinery, using only the resources we need and discarding the minimum surplus material, as molds, tools and more. these are built acquiring the value of an handcrafting object but unlike traditional manufacturing it increases the speed at which objects are created.

The project aims to emphasize the importance of the production process for both, the final product, which acquires a unique identity resulting from a decision of Nature, and the user who made that experience with them from the time throwing water on the sand until they have to give at home use. It is a process that allows anyone to create objects in a very simple way getting a variety of shapes, sizes and colors that will always depend on the environment and its effects.

It's an experience between man and the environment.
